I'm going to be closing up this old blog by the end of the semester. My own professional scribblings will be available at Community College Teaching , a subblog over at 2 Board Alley. I've glad to have gotten this blog up and running, but I find myself becoming more self (-centered? -directed?)these days and want to be an independent old gal.
That said, Holly Pappas has offered to take over the maintenance of this community of bloggers' site, and I wish her and all of you the very best.
That's too bad. When will Holly begin to take the site over? Any ideas on getting new contributors. It seems that Holly, you, and I have been the only contributors for some time. I think we need at least 6-8 consistent contributors to make it a lively spot.

I've wanted to contribute on occasion, but it seems you need special permissions to do so. Is that the case? Of course, my problem is when I have something to say, I usually say it on my blog. I'm also blogging for TYCA once in awhile too, but I could probably run off at the mouth a little here too if you like. But I think we need to clean up the spam comments.

You shouldn't need a special permission--just send an email and get the password.

Hi, all. I'll be glad to take things over any time. I'm not sure if it's possible to transfer administrator privileges though or how that might work. Does anybody know how tat works? Or would you like me to send email to typepad people, Joanna? And, Jason, I certainly agree with you that we need to drum up some more contributors. That certainly would be my first step, to see if people had any ideas about how we might do that. I wondered about the idea of some sort of rotating schedule of people taking responsibility for making sure something got posted each week, at least. Or does that seem too regimented??

I think it's fair, at the very least, to expect a post every one to two weeks--and commenting on others posts. If we have 8-10 contributors , that would be....well, being a cc english prof, the math eludes me, but I know it would be more than we have now. I think a good goal would be 3-4 posts a weeks with a lively comment sections.
I have a couple of colleagues that might be interested. But regional diversity is also important. I know someone in Washington and someone in Idaho that may be interested. Should I ask them?
And that's a good question about transferring admin privileges. It would be good to keep the same url since so many blogs out there are linked to this now.
Holly, and others, my email is pickavance@gmail.com if you all want to talk more about this.
